TablePlus Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet

A printable cheat sheet of TablePlus shortcuts, grouped by task. Every shortcut comes from the TablePlus documentation or its download page; the macOS keys are as documented, and the Windows column applies the vendor's rule of replacing Command with Control.

Steps and facts checked 8 October 2026 against the vendor's official documentation. Versions covered: TablePlus for macOS 26.10.22 and Windows 26.10.2 (shortcuts as documented by TablePlus). Next review due April 2027. Menus, shortcuts and prices change between releases; check the vendor's documentation for your version.
Short answer
  • The five TablePlus shortcuts most people need first: Cmd + P (open anything), Cmd + E (SQL editor), Cmd + Return (run), Cmd + S (commit changes) and Cmd + K (switch database).
  • The TablePlus documentation lists shortcuts with macOS keys and says to replace Command with Control on Windows. Linux shortcuts are not documented.
  • Some keys change meaning by context: Cmd + I indents or beautifies SQL in the editor but inserts a row in table data, and Cmd + D selects the next match in the editor but duplicates a row in table data.
  • You can change shortcuts under Preferences > Keymap; the Windows app added shortcut customisation in version 7.1.4.
How we know: Research-based: every shortcut was copied from the TablePlus documentation (Shortcut Keys, Getting Started, Editor Basics, Table Basics, Plugin and Keymap pages) and the TablePlus download page FAQ on 8 October 2026. The Windows column applies the documentation's instruction to replace Command with Control; where a macOS shortcut already uses Control, no Windows equivalent is documented. We have not pressed these keys in TablePlus for this page; hover over a button in the app to see its current shortcut.

How to read this TablePlus shortcuts cheat sheet

The TablePlus Shortcut Keys page lists keys with macOS symbols. This sheet writes them out: Cmd is Command, Shift, Option (Alt) and Ctrl (Control). The Getting Started page says to replace Command with Control on Windows, so the Windows column shows that substitution. Where a macOS shortcut already uses Ctrl, the documentation gives no Windows equivalent and the cell says so.

The vendor's Interface page adds a useful tip: hover over any button to see its tooltip and shortcut. The Shortcut Keys page itself was last updated years ago, and the app has changed a lot since, so if a key does nothing, check the tooltip or the Keymap preferences. Use the print button to keep this sheet next to your keyboard.

Change TablePlus shortcuts and known conflicts

Customise. According to the Keymap documentation, open Preferences (Cmd + ,), go to the Keymap tab, click a shortcut value and type the new keys, or clear it to reset to the default. The documented customisable actions include selecting the next or previous pane, tab and workspace, toggling line and block comments, and changing the editor font size. The Windows changelog records that shortcut customisation in Settings arrived in Windows version 7.1.4 (June 2026).

Conflicts in the vendor's own lists. The download page FAQ gives Cmd + E as "execute all SQL statements" in the SQL tab, while the Shortcut Keys page gives it as "Open SQL Query". The Shortcut Keys page lists Cmd + . as "Run custom script", while the Editor Basics page uses it to cancel a running query. Where they differ, check the app's menu or tooltip for your version.

For the tasks behind these keys, see exporting results, importing CSV and the TablePlus review. If you are new to TablePlus, start with installing TablePlus.
