Qlik Talend suits organisations that want data integration, change data capture and data quality from one vendor, with a choice of cloud, client-managed or hybrid deployment. It is no longer a free option: Talend Open Studio is retired, prices are quote-only, and full transformation features start at the Premium edition, so check which edition your workload needs.
Overview
Talend was an independent data integration vendor known for Talend Studio and its free Talend Open Studio. Qlik bought Talend in 2023 and retired Talend Open Studio on 31 January 2024. Talend's integration technology now lives in Qlik Talend Cloud, which Qlik describes as combining Qlik and Talend cloud capabilities for data integration, quality and governance, and in client-managed products such as Talend Data Fabric.
Qlik Talend Cloud editions build on each other: Starter moves data from SaaS applications and databases, Standard adds real-time log-based CDC and client-managed or hybrid deployment, Premium adds ETL and ELT transformations, lineage and data quality, and Enterprise adds SAP application and mainframe connectivity. Talend Studio remains the design tool for Talend Data Integration Jobs, with Talend Administration Center managing projects and execution servers running Jobs inside your network.

- Established Talend Studio design tool for complex jobs
Cons
- No free edition since Talend Open Studio was retired in January 2024

- Product names have changed several times (Talend, Qlik Talend Cloud, Talend Data Fabric), which complicates older documentation and migrations
Pricing
Qlik Talend Cloud is sold in Starter, Standard, Premium and Enterprise editions. Customers subscribe to a level of usage capacity, and Qlik says usage is measured by a combination of data volume moved, number of job executions and execution duration, with a telemetry dashboard and alerts. No prices are published, so every edition needs a quote from Qlik. A free trial of Qlik Talend Cloud is available; we could not find its length on the pricing page.
Pricing checked on the vendor's official page on 7 November 2026. Prices change; confirm before buying.
Who it is best for
Organisations that want CDC replication, ETL and ELT pipelines and data quality under one contract, especially where SAP, mainframe or on-premises sources are involved.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone looking for the free Talend Open Studio, which is retired: see Airbyte vs Talend for a free self-hosted alternative.
- Small teams that only need managed connectors into a cloud warehouse: see Fivetran vs Talend.
Verdict
Qlik Talend is a capable enterprise integration platform when you need CDC, transformation and data quality together, and it offers more deployment choice than many cloud-only services. It is a paid, quote-only product now, so existing Talend Open Studio users should plan a move, and buyers should confirm which edition covers their transformation and source needs.
