DATPROF fits mid-sized and large teams with Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 or PostgreSQL databases that want masking and subsetting they can build once and let testers re-run on demand. The modular, size-independent licence is easier to predict than volume pricing, but there are no public prices, so you will need a quote.
Overview
DATPROF is a test data management vendor with offices in Groningen (the Netherlands) and Miami. Its suite is modular: DATPROF Privacy masks data in an existing test database and generates synthetic values (over 50 built-in generators, with your own seed files); DATPROF Subset extracts a smaller, consistent slice of a production database; DATPROF Runtime is a browser-based portal that deploys, schedules and monitors the masking and subset templates; DATPROF Analyze profiles and discovers sensitive data; and DATPROF Virtualize provides virtual copies of test data.
Templates are designed once in Privacy or Subset and then run repeatedly from Runtime, where testers can start their own refreshes without a DBA and pipelines can call the REST API. DATPROF says processing happens in the database so data does not travel over the network. Native support covers Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 for i, Db2 LUW, PostgreSQL, EDB, MySQL and MariaDB, plus JDBC sources and CSV, fixed-length and XML files.
Key features
- Masking rules applied conditionally per row, with deterministic masking and translation tables for consistency across tables and systems
- Over 50 built-in synthetic data generators in several languages, combinable with masking
- Subsetting that reduces production databases to a smaller, consistent test set
- Runtime web portal for deploying, scheduling and monitoring templates, with self-service runs by testers
- Runtime REST API for calling masking and subset runs from CI/CD pipelines
- Custom expressions and pre- and post-scripts in masking templates
- In-database processing, so data is masked where it sits
Integrations and ecosystem
Pros and cons
Pros
- Clear split between design (Privacy, Subset) and repeatable execution (Runtime)
- Licence price does not depend on database size, according to DATPROF
- Covers Db2 for i (iSeries) as well as mainstream relational engines
- Self-service portal reduces DBA involvement in test data refreshes
Cons
- No published prices; pricing needs a sales form
- Each capability is a separate module, so a full setup means several licences
- Cloud warehouses and NoSQL databases are not on the native support list
Pricing
DATPROF does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks for a form and says a sales representative provides customised pricing; it describes the licence as modular with a fixed price that does not depend on database size. Privacy, Subset, Runtime, Analyze and Virtualize are separate modules, and the AWS Marketplace listing for Runtime is bring-your-own-licence, with Privacy and Subset licensed separately. The FAQ confirms the software is not open source. A "Try Today" test-drive link exists, but its terms were not stated on the pages checked.

Who it is best for
Test and QA teams on Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 or PostgreSQL that want repeatable masking and subsetting with a self-service refresh portal.
Typical use cases
- Masking personal data in acceptance and test databases for GDPR compliance
- Shrinking a large Oracle or Db2 production database into a small test copy
- Letting testers refresh their own environment from a portal before a test run
- Triggering masked test data refreshes from a CI/CD pipeline through the Runtime API
Who should look elsewhere
- Teams centred on cloud warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery, or on MongoDB: see Tonic.ai.
- Developers who only need a quick file of fake rows: see Mockaroo.
Verdict
DATPROF is a practical, focused test data suite for relational estates, with the design-then-run split and a size-independent licence as its main draws. It covers fewer platforms than Tonic.ai or K2view, so check the support list against your databases, and plan for a quote covering each module you need.

What are DATPROF Privacy, Subset and Runtime?
Privacy masks and generates test data, Subset extracts a smaller consistent copy of a database, and Runtime is the web portal and REST API that deploys, schedules and runs the templates built in Privacy and Subset.
How much does DATPROF cost?
DATPROF does not publish prices. Its pricing page offers customised pricing through a form and describes a modular, fixed licence price that is independent of database size.
Which databases does DATPROF support?
DATPROF's FAQ lists native support for Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 for i, Db2 LUW, PostgreSQL, EDB, MySQL and MariaDB, plus JDBC sources and CSV, fixed-length, recursive fixed-length and XML files.
Is DATPROF open source?
No. The FAQ states the software is not open source.
