Best Delphix Alternatives

Test data management, masking and synthetic data products to consider instead of Perforce Delphix, grouped by what you actually need: entity-based provisioning, masked and subsetted copies, static masking only, mainframe coverage, or data generated from scratch.

Last verified November 2026. Features, editions and pricing change; check each vendor's site before buying.
Short answer

If you need masked, consistent test data per customer or account across many systems, K2view is the closest enterprise platform, built around business entities rather than whole-database copies. For de-identified, subsetted copies of production databases and warehouses with an API, look at Tonic.ai (Tonic Structural). DATPROF is a modular suite for Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 and PostgreSQL teams that want masking, subsetting and a self-service refresh portal, and it is the only one here with a virtual copy module. Mainframe-heavy enterprises should compare IBM Optim, relaunched as Optim 2.0 in July 2026. If you only need irreversible masking, DataMasque is narrower and simpler, and if you would rather not copy production at all, GenRocket generates synthetic test data from models.

How we know: This guide is research-based: capabilities, supported sources, deployment options and pricing models come from our directory profiles, checked on 7 November 2026 against each vendor's product, pricing and documentation pages. Several vendors publish no prices or support matrices, and the entries say so. We have not deployed these products, masked data with them or measured refresh times. No product on this page paid for inclusion.

Perforce Delphix, marketed as the Delphix DevOps Data Platform, does two jobs. Continuous Data keeps a compressed, immutable record of source databases and delivers virtual, writable copies that share common blocks, so teams can refresh, rewind, bookmark and branch full test databases without the storage of physical copies. Continuous Compliance and Hyperscale Compliance discover sensitive data and mask it with referential integrity, including on Snowflake and Databricks, and a Synthetic Data module and the Data Control Tower API layer complete the platform. See the Perforce Delphix profile.

Teams that look elsewhere usually give one of these reasons. The first three come from Perforce's own pages as summarised in our profile; the last two are our editorial reading.

  • No public pricing. Perforce prices Delphix by the capabilities you choose (masking, test data delivery, synthetic data) and by deployment size, by quote.
  • A platform to operate. Delphix engines and Data Control Tower must be deployed and run; it is not a lightweight tool.
  • Managed cloud databases. For Amazon RDS and Azure SQL Database, Delphix orchestrates the provider's own APIs instead of delivering virtual copies.
  • Masking without virtualisation. Teams whose real requirement is masked or subsetted data may not need block-sharing virtual copies at all (editorial).
  • Ownership and documentation changes. Delphix is now a Perforce product and its documentation is moving to the Perforce Developer Hub, which prompts some customers to review the market at renewal (editorial).

For head-to-head pages, see Delphix vs K2view and Tonic.ai vs GenRocket. Redgate Test Data Manager, which classifies, masks and subsets SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle databases, is discussed on the Redgate alternatives page rather than repeated here.

How we chose

We considered K2view, Tonic.ai, DATPROF, IBM Optim, GenRocket, DataMasque, Informatica Test Data Management and Redgate's test data products. To be included, a product had to provide masked, subsetted or synthetic data for non-production databases, be sold and actively released in November 2026, and describe its capabilities and deployment on an official page.

Informatica Test Data Management is not listed as an entry: Salesforce completed its acquisition of Informatica on 18 November 2025, the packaged cloud edition in the October 2026 product schedule masks and subsets Salesforce sandbox orgs only, and the on-premises product depends on the PowerCenter platform. It remains an option for existing Informatica customers (see its profile). Redgate Test Data Manager is covered on the Redgate alternatives page instead of repeated here.

Note that none of the listed products copies Delphix's block-sharing virtual databases across many engines; DATPROF Virtualize is the only virtual-copy module among them. The order is not a ranking: entries start with broad test data platforms, then modular suites, then a masking-only tool and a synthetic data generator.

K2view

Paid (by quote); "Start Free" option On premises, cloud, hybrid; K2cloud portal Best for: Enterprises with complex application landscapes that need consistent, masked, self-service test data per customer or account across many systems

K2view's Test Data Management and Data Masking solutions run on its Data Product Platform (the Fabric runtime, 8.5.2 being the latest listed release), which stores the data for each business entity, such as one customer, in its own Micro-Database. Instead of copying whole databases, it subsets by business attributes and returns the complete data for each selected entity across every source system.

Testers provision data through a self-service portal, API or agent, reserve entities so tests do not collide, and snapshot and roll back to a known state. Masking finds sensitive data with rules and LLMs, works statically or in flight, keeps referential integrity at entity level and also covers unstructured content such as PDFs and images. See Delphix vs K2view.

Limitations
  • No public pricing, and the terms of the free start are not stated.
  • The entity model must be designed up front, which takes effort.
  • No database-by-database support matrix on the public product pages.

Tonic.ai

Freemium (Fabricate free plan; Structural by quote) Tonic Cloud (SaaS); self-hosted on Docker or Kubernetes (Enterprise) Best for: Engineering teams that want de-identified, subsetted copies of production databases and warehouses with an API to automate refreshes

Tonic.ai sells three products. Tonic Structural reads a source database, applies a generator to each sensitive column (masking, consistent replacement or synthesis), optionally subsets, and writes a de-identified copy; its connectors cover PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Db2 for LUW, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, MongoDB and Salesforce. Tonic Fabricate generates data from a description or schema, and Tonic Textual redacts sensitive values in free text.

Structural is priced by annual contract on source data size: Professional covers up to 10 TB, 10 users and two source types on Tonic Cloud, and Enterprise adds unlimited sources and self-hosting. Fabricate has a free plan and a 29 USD per month Plus plan. See Tonic.ai vs GenRocket.

Limitations
  • Structural has no published prices and is priced by source data volume.
  • Self-hosting needs the Enterprise plan.
  • Subsetting is not available on several connectors, including Databricks and BigQuery.

DATPROF

Paid (modular licence, by quote) On premises or self-managed cloud; Runtime on AWS Marketplace (BYOL) Best for: Test and QA teams on Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 or PostgreSQL that want repeatable masking and subsetting with a self-service refresh portal

DATPROF is a Dutch test data management suite made of modules: Privacy masks data and generates synthetic values, Subset extracts a smaller consistent slice of production, Runtime is a web portal and REST API that deploys and schedules masking and subset templates so testers can refresh their own environments, Analyze profiles and discovers sensitive data, and Virtualize provides virtual copies of test data.

Native support covers Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 for i, Db2 LUW, PostgreSQL, EDB, MySQL and MariaDB, plus JDBC sources and flat files. DATPROF describes its licence as modular with a fixed price that does not depend on database size, and says processing happens inside the database.

Limitations
  • No published prices; pricing needs a sales form.
  • Each capability is a separate module, so a full setup means several licences.
  • Cloud warehouses and NoSQL databases are not on the native support list.

IBM Optim

Paid (by quote through IBM or partners) Containers on premises, private or public cloud; IBM z/OS through z/OS Container Extensions Best for: Large enterprises with mainframe and distributed databases that need governed test data, masking and archiving from one vendor

IBM Optim, long sold as IBM InfoSphere Optim, covers Optim Test Data Management, Optim Data Privacy and Optim Archive. Optim 2.0, generally available on 31 July 2026, is a containerized application with an Apache Spark runtime that treats a business object (related rows across systems) as the unit of work, so that one customer ID masks to the same value in Oracle and Db2. It runs natively on z/OS, and archives are written as Apache Iceberg tables.

Documented sources include Db2, Db2 for z/OS, Oracle, IMS and VSAM, and the z/OS runtime is largely zIIP-eligible according to IBM. It is the obvious candidate when mainframe data must be in the same test sets as distributed databases (editorial).

Limitations
  • No public prices or trial.
  • Optim 2.0 is a new release, so migration from InfoSphere Optim needs planning, and older SKUs are being withdrawn.
  • IBM's product pages do not list every supported database.

DataMasque

Paid (per deployment by quote; On Demand from 49 per hour on AWS and Azure marketplaces) Linux, Docker or Podman, Amazon EKS and ECS, OpenShift on AWS; AWS and Azure marketplaces Best for: Teams that need irreversibly masked copies of production databases and files for test and analytics, across several engines

DataMasque replaces sensitive values with realistic substitutes as data leaves production, using salted SHA-512 hashing so results are deterministic and keys stay consistent across databases, files and cloud stores. Rules live in YAML ruleset files, and a discovery feature suggests sensitive columns. Its published support matrix covers Oracle 11gR2 to 26ai, SQL Server 2012 to 2025, PostgreSQL 9.6 to 18, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Db2, Informix, SAP ASE and SAP HANA, plus Snowflake, Aurora, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB and Databricks.

It also masks CSV, Parquet, JSON, XML and other files on S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage and network shares. In our view it suits teams that use Delphix mainly for masking and already have their own way to copy databases.

Limitations
  • Masking only: no subsetting or virtual database copies documented.
  • Main licences are quote-only, and the On Demand price does not state a currency.
  • Irreversible by design, so it does not suit cases that need re-identification.

GenRocket

Paid (annual per-project licence, 20-project minimum, by quote) Hosted web platform (multi-tenant or single-tenant); generation runtime on your own machines Best for: Enterprise QA and test automation teams that want synthetic, per-test-case data instead of copies of production

GenRocket generates test data from a design rather than from production. Domains are modelled like tables and attributes like columns, each attribute gets a generator, and receivers write output to databases over JDBC, to files such as XML, JSON, CSV and VSAM, or to web services and Salesforce. Scenarios set row counts while keeping parent and child records consistent, and an API connects generation to test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Around the generator it adds subsetting (named for Oracle, Db2, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Sybase), in-place masking, profiling and a self-service portal. The licence is per test data project with a 20-project minimum and unlimited users. See Tonic.ai vs GenRocket.

Limitations
  • Minimum purchase of 20 projects, with every price by quote.
  • Modelling domains and generators takes upfront design work compared with masking an existing copy.
  • Detailed support matrices sit in a knowledge base that requires a login.

When to stay with Delphix

Stay with Delphix if your teams depend on full, writable virtual copies of large Oracle, SQL Server, Db2 or SAP databases that they refresh, rewind and branch many times a day: that block-sharing approach is what none of the listed alternatives reproduces across engines, and replacing it with physical copies or subsets changes storage costs and test workflows.

Switching makes most sense when the requirement is really masking (DataMasque), masked subsets and self-service refreshes (Tonic.ai, DATPROF), consistent data per business entity across many systems (K2view), mainframe coverage (IBM Optim), or no production data at all (GenRocket). Run a masking and referential integrity check on a real schema before you commit, and confirm support for each source in writing. For production-side activity monitoring and dynamic masking, see IBM Guardium alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

What is the closest alternative to Delphix?

For enterprise test data management with masking, K2view is the closest platform, though it works per business entity rather than with virtual database copies. See Delphix vs K2view.

Is there an alternative that also provides virtual database copies?

Among the products listed, only DATPROF has a virtual copy module (DATPROF Virtualize). The others deliver masked or subsetted physical data, entity-level snapshots (K2view) or synthetic data (GenRocket, Tonic Fabricate), so check whether you need full virtual databases before you switch.

Which Delphix alternatives publish prices?

Few do. Tonic Fabricate has a free plan and a 29 USD per month Plus plan, and DataMasque On Demand starts at 49 per hour on the AWS and Azure marketplaces. K2view, DATPROF, IBM Optim, GenRocket and Tonic Structural are by quote.

Is Delphix still sold?

Yes. It is sold by Perforce as Perforce Delphix, and its help site lists Data Control Tower releases up to 2026.4. Documentation is moving to the Perforce Developer Hub.

What about Informatica Test Data Management?

It is still documented, but Informatica is now owned by Salesforce, its packaged cloud edition targets Salesforce sandbox orgs, and the on-premises product depends on PowerCenter. It is mainly an option for existing Informatica customers.
