Cloud Data Quality suits organisations already on Informatica IDMC, or planning to be, that need classic data quality work: profiling, business rules, standardisation, matching and address verification inside their integration pipelines. It is not a standalone or self-service product: it consumes IPUs from an IDMC subscription priced by quote.
Overview
Cloud Data Quality is a service inside Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), the same platform that hosts Cloud Data Integration. Informatica's online help lists its main building blocks as reusable assets: rule specifications that express business rules as conditions and actions, cleanse assets that change case and replace values, labeler and parse assets that split data into components, deduplicate assets that cluster similar records and consolidate them, and verifier assets that check, correct and enrich postal addresses. Assets are used in mappings, so quality logic runs as part of data pipelines.
Informatica now markets the service under a wider Data Quality and Observability offering, which adds continuous profiling, data observability across data, pipelines and business views, and CLAIRE AI features such as automatically generated rules and Data Quality Agents. Ownership changed when Salesforce completed its purchase of Informatica on 18 November 2025; the product continues to be sold.
Key features
- Rule specification assets that define business rules in basic or advanced mode and can be tested before use
- Cleanse, labeler and parse assets for standardisation, with dictionaries and regular expressions
- Deduplicate assets that cluster similar records and consolidate them into a preferred version
- Verifier assets for address verification, correction and enrichment, with certified verification for supported countries
- Guided data profiling and AI-generated rule suggestions (CLAIRE)
- Data quality assets reused in Cloud Data Integration mappings, so checks run inside pipelines

Pros and cons
Pros
- Mature cleansing, parsing, matching and address verification, not only checks
- Quality logic is reused directly inside IDMC integration mappings
- Shares one IPU contract with integration, catalog and MDM services
- Secure Agent lets tasks reach on-premises sources
Cons
- Only available as part of an IDMC subscription; no public IPU prices
- Monitoring of freshness, volume and schema changes is not documented for this service
- The product family and names keep changing (Cloud Data Quality, Data Quality and Observability), and ownership changed in November 2025
Pricing
Cloud Data Quality is one of the IDMC services paid for with Informatica Processing Units (IPUs), the consumption model Informatica uses across eligible cloud services, with usage metered per service. Informatica publishes no IPU prices; the pricing page offers a quote and a sample price range. The Cloud Data Quality page links to a free trial; we could not find its length or limits on an official page.
Pricing checked on the vendor's official page on 7 November 2026. Prices change; confirm before buying.
Who it is best for
Informatica IDMC customers that need profiling, business rules, standardisation, deduplication and address verification inside their data pipelines.
Typical use cases
- Standardising and de-duplicating customer records before loading a CRM or MDM hub
- Verifying and correcting postal addresses in batch
- Applying shared business rules to data as it moves through IDMC mappings
- Profiling new sources before a migration to the cloud
Who should look elsewhere
- Teams without an Informatica contract that want lightweight checks in SQL or Python: see Soda or Great Expectations.
- Teams that mainly want automatic monitoring of warehouse tables: see Monte Carlo.
Verdict
Cloud Data Quality is a strong fit when you already run integration on Informatica IDMC and need real cleansing, matching and address work rather than just pass or fail checks. It makes little sense on its own: it is bought through IPUs with the rest of IDMC, and buyers should get roadmap commitments in writing given the Salesforce ownership.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cloud Data Quality part of Informatica IDMC?
Yes. It is a service in Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud and is paid for with IPUs, like Cloud Data Integration. See the Informatica IDMC profile.
What can Cloud Data Quality do besides validation?
Informatica documents cleanse, parse, labeler, deduplicate and verifier assets, so it also standardises values, splits fields, clusters and consolidates duplicates, and verifies addresses.
How much does Informatica Cloud Data Quality cost?
Informatica does not publish prices. Use is billed in Informatica Processing Units under an IDMC subscription, so you need a quote. A free trial is linked from the product page.
