Navicat Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet

A printable list of Navicat 18 keyboard shortcuts, grouped by task, with the Windows, Linux and macOS keys side by side. Every key comes from the Hot Keys pages of the official Navicat 18 manual; the Linux and Windows lists differ in a few places, so both are shown.

Steps and facts checked 8 October 2026 against the vendor's official documentation. Versions covered: Navicat Premium 18 and Navicat Premium Lite 18 (Windows, Linux and macOS manuals). Next review due April 2027. Menus, shortcuts and prices change between releases; check the vendor's documentation for your version.
Short answer
  • The shortcuts to learn first: Ctrl+Q (macOS Command-Y) opens a new query, Ctrl+R (Command-R) runs it or the selection, and Ctrl+Shift+R (Shift-Command-R) runs only the statement under the cursor.
  • Ctrl+/ comments lines, Ctrl+Shift+U and Ctrl+U change case, and Ctrl+I opens Ask AI in the query editor (Command on macOS).
  • In the data grid, Ctrl+S applies record changes and Esc discards them on Windows and Linux; macOS uses Command-Return and Command-Esc.
  • Windows and Linux mostly share keys, but differ for find next, replace and deleting records; macOS uses its own set throughout.
How we know: Research-based: every shortcut was copied from the Hot Keys pages of the Navicat 18 manual for Windows, Linux and macOS on 8 October 2026. We have not pressed these keys in Navicat; "Not listed" means that platform's manual gives no key for the action. Some features (Model, Ask AI) need a particular edition.

Frequently asked questions

What is the shortcut to run a query in Navicat?

Ctrl+R on Windows and Linux, Command-R on macOS. It runs the whole query, or the selection if you have highlighted part of it. Ctrl+Shift+R (Shift-Command-R) runs only the current statement.

How do I open a new query window in Navicat?

Press Ctrl+Q on Windows and Linux, or Command-Y on macOS.

How do I comment out lines in Navicat?

Select the lines and press Ctrl+/ (Command-/ on macOS) to comment or uncomment them.

Are Navicat shortcuts the same on Windows and Linux?

Mostly, but not entirely. The Linux manual uses Ctrl+G for find next and Ctrl+H for replace in the query editor, Delete to remove records and Ctrl+Shift+T to close a connection, where the Windows manual lists F3, no replace key, Ctrl+Delete and no close key.

How do I save changes in the Navicat data grid?

Ctrl+S applies record changes on Windows and Linux (Esc discards them). On macOS, Command-Return applies and Command-Esc discards.
