Navicat Pricing Explained (2026)

Navicat is sold per user, either as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a perpetual licence that includes one year of maintenance. Navicat Premium (all engines) comes in Enterprise, Standard and Non-Commercial editions, single-engine products such as Navicat for MySQL cost less, and Navicat Premium Lite is free. This page sets out the list prices shown in the Navicat store and what each edition leaves out.

Steps and facts checked 8 October 2026 against the vendor's official documentation. Versions covered: Navicat Premium 18, Navicat Premium Lite 18, Navicat 18 for MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server, Navicat Data Modeler 5. Next review due January 2027. Menus, shortcuts and prices change between releases; check the vendor's documentation for your version.
Short answer
  • Navicat pricing depends on three choices: the product (Premium for all engines, or a single-engine product), the edition (Enterprise, Standard or Non-Commercial) and the licence type (monthly, yearly or perpetual).
  • A perpetual licence includes one year of software maintenance; after that you can keep using the version you have, but upgrades, live chat, support and key resets need maintenance renewed.
  • Licences are per user, and one key works on Windows, macOS or Linux. The store lists volume discounts from five perpetual licences.
  • Navicat Premium Lite is free for commercial and non-commercial use, for up to five users per organisation, but it has no ER diagram view, modelling, data transfer or automation, and imports and exports text-based files only.
How we know: Research-based: list prices, discounts and licence terms were read from the Navicat online store pages and edition limits from the Navicat 18 manual and product pages on 8 October 2026. We have not bought a licence; prices are the US dollar list prices the store showed that day, before tax and before any promotion.

Navicat pricing is easier to follow once you separate the products. PremiumSoft sells several Navicat products, and this page covers the four that matter for SQL work:

  • Navicat Premium 18 connects to MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis and Snowflake from one application. It is the product most people mean by "Navicat".
  • Single-engine products such as Navicat 18 for MySQL, Navicat 18 for PostgreSQL and Navicat 18 for SQL Server work with one engine and cost less.
  • Navicat Premium Lite 18 is the free version with the core features only.
  • Navicat Data Modeler 5 is a separate design tool (with a free Data Modeler Lite) for teams that only need modelling.

Navicat Premium is sold in three editions. Enterprise is the full product; the store notes that it includes the Data Modeling Tool and BI features. Standard costs less and, according to the Navicat 18 manual, leaves out the Model feature, which is marked as available only in Enterprise Edition. Non-Commercial is restricted to educational and non-profit use, such as schools, universities, registered charities, libraries and research institutes.

Subscription or perpetual licence

The Navicat store offers each Premium edition as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a perpetual licence. The trade-off is the usual one:

  • Subscription. You sign in with your Navicat ID and can use the software during the subscription term, always on the latest version. The manual notes that each Navicat ID can be signed in to only one copy of Navicat at a time.
  • Perpetual licence. You receive a 16-digit licence key. The licence does not expire, and the first year of software maintenance is included. Maintenance covers upgrades, live chat, technical support and key reset requests, so after the first year you either renew it or stay on the version you have.

A perpetual licence and a subscription cannot be active in the same copy of Navicat; the manual says to deactivate the key or sign out of your Navicat ID before switching. Every licence is per user, and the store states that a key can be used on Windows, macOS or Linux, so there is no separate price per operating system.

In our view, a subscription suits short projects or a trial period beyond the 14-day free trial. For several years of daily use, a perpetual licence with maintenance usually costs less; the worked examples below show the arithmetic.

What Lite and Standard leave out

The Navicat 18 manual marks which features need a paid edition. The ones that most often decide the purchase are:

Navicat Premium 18 features that depend on the edition (from the Navicat 18 manual)
FeaturePremium Lite (free)StandardEnterprise
Connections, SSH and SSL, query editor, data editorYesYesYes
Import and exportText-based files only (TXT, CSV, XML, JSON and similar)All formats, including ExcelAll formats, including Excel
ER diagram view of a databaseNoYesYes
Data transfer between databasesNoYesYes
Automation (scheduled batch jobs)NoYesYes
Model (conceptual, logical and physical modelling, forward and reverse engineering)NoNoYes

Is Navicat Premium Lite enough?

Navicat describes Premium Lite as a free version for users who mainly need basic database operations. It connects to the same engines as Premium, and the product page states that it can be used for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, with each organisation entitled to up to five free Lite user accounts. If you mostly run queries, edit rows and move CSV files, Lite may be all you need; if you need Excel import or export, diagrams or scheduled jobs, you need Standard at least.

Which Navicat licence fits which user

  • One engine only (for example a MySQL or PostgreSQL developer): a single-engine Navicat product costs well under half of Premium Enterprise at list price.
  • Several engines, no modelling: Navicat Premium Standard.
  • Several engines plus data modelling or BI: Navicat Premium Enterprise. If modelling is the only need, compare the price of Navicat Data Modeler on its own.
  • Students, teachers and non-profits: check whether you qualify for the Non-Commercial edition before buying a commercial one.
  • Budget of zero: start with Premium Lite, or compare free tools such as DBeaver in our DBeaver vs Navicat comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Is Navicat free?

Navicat Premium Lite is free, including for commercial use, for up to five users per organisation. The full Navicat Premium and the single-engine products are paid, with a 14-day fully functional trial.

How much does Navicat Premium cost?

At list price on 8 October 2026, Navicat Premium Enterprise cost 99.99 USD per month, 999.99 USD per year or 1,999.00 USD as a perpetual licence with one year of maintenance. Standard cost 1,499.00 USD as a perpetual licence. See the pricing table above for details.

What happens when Navicat maintenance expires?

A perpetual licence never expires, so you keep using your version. Maintenance is what gives you upgrades, live chat, technical support and licence key resets, so without it you stay on the version you have.

Can I use one Navicat licence on Windows and Mac?

The store states that the licence key can be used on Windows, macOS or Linux. Licences are per user, so one person can choose the platform; a second person needs their own licence.

What is the difference between Navicat Premium Standard and Enterprise?

Enterprise adds the Model feature (data modelling with forward and reverse engineering) and the BI features. Both include the ER diagram view, data transfer and automation, which the free Lite edition does not.
