Short answer

CloudBeaver fits teams that want DBeaver-style SQL and data editing in a browser, hosted on their own infrastructure. Community covers the main relational engines at no cost; choose Enterprise when you need NoSQL databases, cloud explorers, SSO or shared scripts, and budget for an annual server subscription.

How we know: This profile is research-based: editions, prices, supported databases, deployment and connection options were checked against the CloudBeaver GitHub repository and wiki, DBeaver's CloudBeaver Enterprise page, its edition comparison page and the CloudBeaver documentation on 7 November 2026. We have not deployed CloudBeaver.

Overview

CloudBeaver is the browser-based member of the DBeaver family: a web server written in Java with a TypeScript and React front end. The Community edition is open source under Apache 2.0 and is deployed from the official dbeaver/cloudbeaver Docker image, which serves the interface on port 8978. Version 26.2.4 was released on 2 November 2026.

DBeaver Corp also sells CloudBeaver Enterprise, which can run on your own infrastructure without internet access, and CloudBeaver AWS from AWS Marketplace. On DBeaver's edition matrix the Enterprise edition adds NoSQL support, a cloud explorer, AI capabilities, all-users query history and shared scripts and connections, and the Enterprise page lists SSO, SAML and LDAP integration. It is a separate product from the DBeaver desktop editions and from Team Edition.

Key features

  • Browser-based SQL editor with autocomplete and an AI assistant for generating and fixing queries
  • Data editor with a references panel for related records
  • Data export to CSV, JSON, SQL, XML, XLSX, HTML, Markdown and other formats
  • CSV data import with options for duplicate keys, bulk load and transactions
  • SSH tunnels with password or public key authentication, which an administrator can disable

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Free Apache 2.0 Community edition with no commercial-use restriction

  • Familiar DBeaver data editing and export features
  • Enterprise edition can run on your own infrastructure without internet access

Cons

  • You have to deploy, secure and update the server yourself
  • NoSQL databases, cloud explorers and SSO need a paid edition
  • Schema compare and other DBeaver Enterprise developer tools are not part of CloudBeaver

Pricing

CloudBeaver Community is free and open source under Apache 2.0. DBeaver lists CloudBeaver Enterprise at USD 1,025 a year as an annual subscription, described as a server licence for a limited number of users, with other pricing options on request and a 14-day trial whose licence covers up to five users. CloudBeaver AWS, deployed from AWS Marketplace as an EC2 instance, is listed from USD 1,399 a year with a 30-day trial.

Who it is best for

Teams that want a shared, self-hosted web client for several relational databases, with an upgrade path to SSO and NoSQL support.

Who should look elsewhere

Verdict

Our take

CloudBeaver is a sound choice for putting several relational databases behind one self-hosted browser interface, and the Community edition costs nothing. Treat it as a server you must secure and maintain, and move to Enterprise only if you need NoSQL, cloud explorers or SSO.

Frequently asked questions
