Acceldata Data Observability Cloud (ADOC)

Acceldata Data Observability Cloud (ADOC) is a commercial platform for data quality policies, reconciliation, freshness and schema drift monitoring across more than 60 sources, with a data plane you run on Kubernetes and separate cost optimization for Snowflake and Databricks.

Last verified November 2026. Features and pricing for commercial products change; check the vendor site for the latest details.
Product status: Acceldata now markets ADOC alongside newer products (Agentic Data Management, the xLake platform, Pulse for Hadoop and an Open Data Platform). The ADOC documentation lists Data Plane V1 as deprecated in favour of the Nextgen data plane.

Short answer

ADOC fits enterprises with a mixed estate, including Hadoop, Kafka and on-premises databases alongside cloud warehouses, that want rule-based quality policies and reconciliation as well as anomaly detection. It requires running a Kubernetes data plane and has no list prices, so plan for platform engineering effort and a sales-led evaluation, using the 30-day trial.

How we know: This profile is research-based: plans, capabilities, sources and data plane requirements were checked on 7 November 2026 against Acceldata's official home and pricing pages and the ADOC documentation (introduction, data plane installation guide and prerequisites). We have not installed or used ADOC.

Overview

ADOC is Acceldata's data reliability product. Its documentation describes it as a system of record that discovers schemas and metadata from more than 60 supported sources, profiles data, and runs policies for data quality, reconciliation between datasets, freshness, schema drift, data drift and profile anomalies. Results feed dashboards, reliability reports and alerts by Slack, email, Microsoft Teams or webhooks. Agentic Data Management adds agent-based assistance on top.

Work against your data runs in a data plane that you install with a Helm chart on Kubernetes (EKS, AKS and GKE are listed); the documentation recommends a dedicated cluster of at least four nodes with 4 CPU cores and 32 GB of memory each. Acceldata also sells cost optimization for cloud data platforms (query studio, chargeback and showback) and Pulse, an observability product for Hadoop clusters.

Key features

  • Data quality policies with out-of-the-box and domain-specific rules
  • Reconciliation between source and target datasets (ENTERPRISE plan)
  • Freshness, schema drift, data drift and profile anomaly monitoring
  • Discovery and profiling across more than 60 documented sources, including Kafka and Hadoop
  • Customer-run data plane on Kubernetes, installed with Helm
  • Alerts by Slack, email, Teams and webhooks, plus reliability reports
  • Separate cost optimization product for cloud data platforms

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Reconciliation and rule-based policies, not only anomaly detection
  • Covers Hadoop, Kafka and on-premises databases as well as cloud warehouses
  • Processing runs in your own Kubernetes data plane
  • 30-day free trial advertised

Cons

  • No published prices
  • Data plane needs a dedicated Kubernetes cluster with substantial minimum sizing
  • Reconciliation, pipeline monitoring and the SDK are ENTERPRISE-only
  • Broad product family (ADOC, ADM, xLake, Pulse) makes scoping a purchase more involved

Pricing

Acceldata publishes plan contents but no prices. For Data Reliability, the PRO and ENTERPRISE plans are both "Contact Sales"; ENTERPRISE adds reconciliation, pipeline monitoring, an SDK, RBAC, reporting and direct API access to metadata. A separate Cost Optimization product has PRO (free trial button) and ENTERPRISE (contact sales) plans. The pricing page advertises a 30-day free trial. No currency amounts or pricing units are shown.

Who it is best for

Enterprises with hybrid estates, including Hadoop or on-premises databases, that want quality policies, reconciliation and observability in one commercial platform and can run Kubernetes.

Typical use cases

  • Reconcile row counts and values between an on-premises source and a cloud warehouse after migration
  • Detect schema drift in Kafka topics or Hive tables feeding analytics
  • Apply standard data quality policies across dozens of sources from one place
  • Track and charge back Snowflake or Databricks spend with the cost optimization product

Who should look elsewhere

  • Small teams on one cloud warehouse who want a quick SaaS setup: see Metaplane.

Verdict

Our take

ADOC is a broad data reliability platform whose reconciliation, policy engine and Hadoop coverage set it apart from warehouse-only observability tools. The cost is operational: a Kubernetes data plane, enterprise-only features and quote-based pricing.

Frequently asked questions

What does ADOC stand for?

Acceldata Data Observability Cloud, Acceldata's data reliability product. Its documentation describes Agentic Data Management (ADM) as an agent-based layer on top of ADOC.

Do I have to run infrastructure for Acceldata?

Yes, a data plane. The documentation describes installing it with a Helm chart on Kubernetes such as EKS, AKS or GKE, on a dedicated cluster of at least four nodes.

Is there a free trial?

The pricing page advertises a 30-day free trial; plan prices are by contacting sales.
